Empirical- evidence gathered by careful observation, experimentation or measurement. Therefore psychology requires evidence proof and research. The difference between psychobabble and empirical psychology is that empirical psychology is based on research and the repetition of experiments whereas psychobabble confirms unsupported popular opinion. Critical thinking- the ability and willingness to assess claims and make objective judgements on the basis of well-supported reasons and evidence rather than emotion or anecdote. Basically asses things with an open mind and based off of evidence and research rather than personal opinions.
