Unaware of citation standards (20%), plagiarism (16%). Cheating (18%), time (10%), lack of confidence/self-worth. Not a few people that cheat a lot, rather, a lot of people who cheat just a little. Personal fudge factor how much we believe we can get away with cheating without changing our impression of ourselves. Experiment: by being a step away from cash (e. g. token not 8005) cheating doubled. In an exmperiment, when someone from an in-group" cheats, cheating seems more appropriate. Too much work (55% faculty don"t bother), don"t want to be seen as police. Too few university administrations back up their professors.
