Homophobia - even more pronounced degree of heterosexism, may cause acts of violence and hatred come from this and similar phobias. Internalized homophobia - may cause gay/lesbian people to hate themselves. 28% of canadian youth report witnessing harassment of sexual minority youth. 2/3 of canadian lgbtq youth feel unsafe at school. More likely to be physically assaulted by both family members and others. Conversion therapy - religiously motivated reparative therapy; highly contested (no proven method to change someone"s sexual orientation)
