Good mothering/ parenting can affect how a difficult child turns out systems theory: child is directly interacting with various groups. Medical institutions (canada vs. us health systems) Stressors in the home (parent"s stress on jobs or money) Right now, in canada, 1 in 10 children are not having their basic needs met: 40% of people relying on food banks are children. Poor nutrition: stalls development lack of school readiness fewer education opportunities few books at home, few toys to encourage cognitive development. Parents with lower ses interact with their children differently. Not concerning for a child with a long 5-htt. Concerning for a child with a short 5-htt. Neighbourhoods: children being raised in poor communities vs. children in affluent neighbourhoods seeing poverty as a part of the development system.
