Solutions: blind observer, unaware of the hypothesis of the study, unaware of which group each participant is in, observer effects (hawthorne effect) Participants will be reactive that is, they will act differently when they know they are being observed. Solutions: be unobtrusive, allow time to acclimate. Types of closed survey questions: yes-no questions, multiple choice questions, forced-alternative questions. Many of the unhappy things in people"s lives are partly due to bad luck.
