System of ethics is set of standards governing conduct of a person or members of a profession. Under the leadership of hobbs a new committee on ethical standards for psychology was formed. Using a procedure called critical incidents technique the committee surveyed entire membership of apa, asking them to provide incidents of unethical conduct they knew about and to indicate what they perceived as being ethical issue involved. Beneficence and non malfeasance: take care. do no harm, seek to safegaurd welfare and rights of those they interact professionally and other affected ppl, and welfare of animal subjects. Fidelity and responsibility: establish relationships of trust with ppl they work with be aware of professional/scientific responsibilities,clarify professional roles/obligations,accept responsibilit for behaviour,seek to manage conflicts of interest that could lead to exploitation or harm. Integrity:seek to promote accuracy,honesty,and truthfulness,in science,teaching and practice of psychology. in situations which deception may be ethically justifiable to maximize benefits and minimize harm.
