Cities are competing for: capital, image, tourist, etc. >slow world: not yet integrated, such as slums, don"t speak multiple or even national language. >fast world: flexible production system, global connection, sophisticated lifestyles. While cities are trying to establish a global image, there are often policies that neglect the local people. Designed to become some kind of silicon valley. >new technology, lots of fibre out link technology, direct links.
