Most individuals will just stay in their groups. Larger groups call bands and they form groups called troops. The more of you there are, the more protection you have against predation. General pattern submissive grooms the dominant primate: to calm down the individuals, primates watching grooming will turn calm too. Female philopatric females will stay in their birth groups and males will move in with them. Male philopatric males will stay in their birth groups and females will move in with them: ex/ chimps. Individuals larger in size tend to use violence more often to establish their reputation. Individuals smaller in size tend to use social strategies to establish their reputation. Researchers suggest that social systems aren"t written in stone: males become less douchey during the next generation. It was thought that the alpha male would be the only one fathering: turns out, a lot of the offsprings of the baboons were fathered by other males.
