The more work is integrated into the company"s activities the more likely you are an employee. Employees have certain rights and benefits, such as paid holidays and paid overtime. And employers have certain obligations like the deduction of income taxes and employment insurance premiums. By making the mistake of assuming someone thinks they are an independent contractor, but they are not, can have bad outcome.
