What is alienation: refers to the separation of workers form other things. Changes in production: growth of large scale manufacturing and the demand for wage laborers to start working in the factories, growth of large scale farms which competed with the feudal lords in terms of produce. Increasing use of wage laborers rather than serfs to work the land.
