Biology 1001a outcomes for lectures 2 - 5. This document outlines the educational outcomes arising from lectures 2 through 5 of biology. An outcome is an expectation; an expectation of how students should be able to perform in order to demonstrate their command of the material. Final exam will be largely multiple-choice questions, the outcomes are written only with respect to performance on this type of question. Outcomes for the written portion of the final exam will be available closer to the end of term. Although the following list of outcomes is not necessarily exhaustive, students who can meet these expectations are more likely to perform well on the assessments, midterm and final exam. Most of the material is supported by chapters 2, 5, 9 and 10 in the text with some ideas pulled in from elsewhere as indicted by figures cited in class.
