The cell bodies themselves are quite small (12 microns) The axon portion can be very long (down from the brain to your foot, for example) Phrenology describing personality type through the formation of the skyll. Neurons a specialized cell type within the brain. Neuron: a nerve cell, the basic building block of the nervous system. Sensory neuron: bring sensory information to the central nervous system.
