Cancer: age under 20 or over 55, recent unexplained weight loss: more than 4. 5 kg (10 lb) in 6 months (lurie 2005, history of cancer. Immune suppression from hiv, tissue or organ transplant, steroid use. Fracture: osteoporosis, violent trauma as part of the injury mechanism (such as fall from a roof, motor vehicle accident, prolonged use of corticosteroids. Cauda equina syndrome: link for info: urinary retention (difficulty expelling urine) and/or fecal incontinence, saddle anesthesia (anesthesia in the area that makes contact with your bike seat, rapidly progressing widespread motor weakness resulting in gait and balance impairment.
