Nats 1880 life beyond earth: preferred place to look for habitable planets is around stars, necessary to investigate the nature of stars to continue our search for life beyond earth. Gas cloud is 100 times heavier than the sun. Defintion of the star= star is ball of gas powered by nuclear fususion and held together by its own gravity. Hydrogen in the core runs out and it doesn"t have energy pouring out, sun gets hotter, core collpases. Basketball analogy (stars much heavier) can fuse the elements. Neutron stars ( all protons transform into neutrons and you just get one massive package of neutron) What would happen to earth if sun turned into black hole: nothing, earth is flung off in the space in a particular direction, earth would sucked into the planet into short time. Black holes are million times heavier than the sun, black hole 4 times more massive than suns, but no idea how they are formed.
