Only the skilled workman : skilled workman lost power they had before, aren"t in charge anymore, trying to conserve the status and power they had, trying to keep a lot of traditions and customs they had. Radical aspects: going right the fundamentals, trying to keep control of how things are made and how things are done in the workplace, foreman come along, they don"t have a lot of skill, but manage all the workers. Craftsmen fight the foreman often because they want to maintain the workplace as it was before: mutual support, examples: carpenters union and building trades (carpenters as well) Classic example: shoemakers: called the knights of st. crispin , very strong on the early customs, band together very quickly in the skilled trades, become one of the fore front organizations early on.
