Counter cultures: the prefixes sub and counter assume there is a dominant culture, both oppose those dominant structures dominant structures are seen as limiting, repressive, problematic, us vs. them => minority vs. cmx 7652them, dichotomy, in this context when talk about us, talking about a community, but one that is a minority, taking about something less than/smaller/counter to a preexisting dominant point of view.
