Feudalism: fall of rome (475 ad, roman were defeated by germans, civilization had collapsed completely, romans were excellent engineers, people were literate, trade was very active; however when roman fell, everything fell apart, warlord land grab, a few warlords acquired vast, vast amounts of land and became under the rule of the warlords, everybody was under threat from some sort of attack, land was for power, protection, defence from other warlords, warlords also know of barons, origins of rulers of europe (dukes, lords, and etc)
