Power can come in many forms- getting what you want, setting the agenda and changing people"s beliefs. Power has practical concepts- need to know who has it. And evaluative concepts- how well do social systems empower citizens. Power is inly power when exercised but one can have agency without using it. Geoff dow, what do we know about social democracy? . Share equally in the standard of living that country can produce. We should inspire political participation but people are tapping out. Need to be citizens before we are consumers- good ends not just cheap and convenient. Purpose of democracy is to achieve ends we cannot achieve as individuals. Rational adults need not justify why they don"t want change- because why not. New, practical social order based on unrestricted liberty, anti- governments (because they are based on violence) Anarchy is the liberation of the human mind. Proletariat will revolt because of the oppression of the working class.
