More challenging the job, the more meaningful it will be: task identity: unity of job whether it involves doing a whole unit of work or completing a product instead of making only part of a product on an assembly line, task significance: the importance of a job to the lives and well being of co workers or consumers, autonomy: the amount of independence employees have in scheduling and organizing their work, feedback: the amount of information employees receive about the effectiveness and quality of their job performance.
