Tutorials are held every other week beginning the week of sept. 26th. Blackboard features: syllabus and other course documents, lecture summaries, assignment handouts, announcements. First half: archaeological method and theory (unit 1, archaeology of complex societies (unit 4) Second half: human evolution (unit 2, perspectives on agriculture (unit 3) 2 term tests 25% each: tutorial participation 10% High marks for content will be awarded to those assignments which demonstrate a comprehensive grasp of the subject matter: style and mechanics 20%. High marks for style and mechanics go to those assignments which include correct spelling and grammar, and use proper citation methods: originality and clarity 20%. High marks for this section will be given to those assignments which display evidence of critical thinking and are particularly lucid. Term test 25: held during class time on december 5th, test will consist of multiple-choice questions and will be completed on scantron sheets, questions will be drawn from lecture and textbook content.
