Bad impressions are stronger than good ones. Snap judgments: made quickly based n few bits of info; not accurate. Fiske- good-enough accuracy in forming impressions allows us to navigate our social seas and not collide too often. Systematic judgement: observe person in various situations; friends, employees. Attributions: inferences that people draw about the cause of their own behavior, others behavior & events internal attributions- ascribe causes of someones behavior to personal traits, abilities, feelings. External attributions- causes of behavior to environmental constraints. They are suspicious about another person"s motives. Perciever expectations can influence the perception of others. Confirmation bias tendency to seek information that supports one"s beliefs while not pursing disconfirming info in court- leading questions.
