Includes delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thought/speech, and disorganized cataton- ic behaviour: difference b/w a mood disorder w/ psychotic features and schzo is that ppl w/ mood disor- ders will only exhibit +ve symptoms during episodes of mania or depression. Affective flattening: severe reduction or loss of emotional responses to the environment; also known as blunted affect; although these people may be experiencing the emotions, they are unable to express it. Alogia: is a reduction of speech and gives brief empty replies to questions they are asked - can be due to a lack of motivation of speaking or a lack of thinking. Avolition: inability to persist in common, goal directed activities, like work, school or home - person has trouble completing tasks and is disorganized; can lead the person being socially isolated. Other symptoms of schizophrenia: these symptoms are not part of a diagnostic criteria, but can occur frequently w/ the disor- der.
