Women when they go out to get their citizenships they cannot be covered anymore. Jason kenny, immigration minister announced that women who want to take the citizenship cannot wear the niqab during the oath taking. A length of cloth worn by women as a covering for the head and shoulders and often for the face. Head scarf; covering of entire body including head but leaving face. Predates islam; practiced by women in many contexts including non-arab middle eastern societies. Historically it was a sign of high social status: e. g. 13bc assyrian text. There are two different verses in the quran. Two verses 30-31: sura al nur verses 30-31. Recommend that women should cover their bosoms and their jewellery. Both men and women are asked to be modest in many ways. Recommends to the wives of the prophet to wrap their clothes tightly around their bodies so that they would be recognized and not be molested.
