First round of filtering away of dust, warming and moistering of air. Larynx: first section of tract dedicated to respiration. Trachea: cartilaginous tube structure that splits into 2 bronchi. Bronchi: similar to trachea, but within the lobes of the lungs. Alveoli: very delicate structures, site of gas exchange. Lobes: separations of a single lung on one particular side of the body. In humans, 2 lobes on left, 3 lobes on right.
