There were some signs of success: 5000 mennonites in manitoba, mil acres of land, created villages, success story glorified municipal government quasi autonomy. Immigration as an international phenomenon and not only as part of the sub- history of a country: as a continuum with migrant at the centre.

My understanding is that the possible mechanisms of evolutionare:

Environmental changes
Cultural/mating preferences
Population Immigration
Genetic Mutation

Am I missing anything? I've heard that population shifts withina existing populaces will effect evolution, but imagining the mostsimplicity scenario, it's hard to see why the would make adifference.

This week's topic has been at the forefront in the last couple of Presidential elections and of course recent elections and upcoming administration. As you consider this topic, be sure to focus on the question at hand. As a society, we are presented with several issues relating to immigration into the United States. These range from illegal immigrants, impacts of immigrants entering the United States and the impacts on our current economy, insurance costs, etc. This week's clip highlights some compelling arguments and points; all of which must be considered as a policymaker. As in previous weeks, consider the various stakeholders and their position and interest as it pertains to the topic.

You may consider this issue from a local, national, and global perspective. Consider the difficulty in setting policy and establishing laws which target to do what is best. As with most issues, some will benefit, while others benefit less
