Going global is not necessarily the most profitable. World"s 100 biggest law firms were arranged into five groups: homebodies, adventurers, colonizers, conquistadors and citizens of the world. All firms have grown vastly in overall profitability, but the globalizers have done so, on average, more slowly. They have with beachhead offices that serve existing clients who do business around the world remain firmly american, hoping to avoid culture clashes. This requires transplanting your home country"s talent or, perhaps because of local regulation practicing law, finding the right talent abroad.
