Document Summary
Emotion feeds into intuition (fast judges of right and wrong) that figure prominently in moral judgments. Moralization: distinct emotions can amplify the importance of different moral domains during moral judgments. Disgust relates to amplified moral judgments of purity violations. Moral judgments can pertain to domains other than harm and justice. Moral domains involve discrete sets of rules that impart a specific idea of what is good and virtuous, how people should behave, and what deserves punishment. Actions are morally wrong if they breach the rules of a moral domain but right if they uphold the rules. Domains are basic, innate elements of moral judgment in all cultures but played up or down in different cultures. Domain of justice : people should respect each other"s individual rights and liberties, reciprocate aid, and treat others fairly. Harm/care: people should not harm others and should help others. Domain of purity: protecting sanctity of body and soul.
