Movie: stalin was sent to exile. Came back: lenin lead the revolution against the tsar, lenin didn"t know who stalin was at the beginning. Stalin became important once the revolution had taken place: lenin died. Stalin did: stalin consolidated power and gathered his allies, trotsky is publicly shown as a traitor and sent to exile. Trotsky became a synonym for someone against the government: stalin wanted a dictatorship not an oligarchy. Church needed be replaced: used himself, his image would replace the church ones. Priests are killed: not properly buried, wants industrialization. State owned farms would pay for this. Farmers refuse to give up their harvest: stalin attacks peasants homes. Systematically search every house in a village. People were told how much wheat they had to deliver: land owners were demonized. Kulaks and prisoners: slavery meant they could expand their country. Comments on the documentary: everything has bias, some things are missed.
