Restricted reporting causes false reporting controlled perspectives: not allowed to show the dead of our country (no negative sentiments) Narratives bring understanding, photos haunt us: narratives used to explain the photo are interpreted but are used to back up claims. State works to control these images when it can. Need to expose the authority creating the perception. Need to present the war in a way that supports the troops/ the war. State controls access to the war (lets reporters go there or not)
