Bring your own device or BYOD is great for some companies. I don't think every business needs to implement it or should implement it. There are inherent security risks when employees use their own devices for work related matters. They are not always on a secure network and usually have personal e-mail accounts on them as well as internet searches that may not be suitable or appropriate for business. Then there are very small companies that choose to save some money and have employees use their own device. If there are no real security threats and mainly used for email this will probably work out ok for everyone. In my current field it is just easier to use my own device even though we don't have a written policy regarding it.

Explain how Java code gets executed under the hood.

IntelliJ uses the Java compiler to compile our code into a different format called Java bytecode. This Java code is platform independent and that means it can run on Windows Mac Linux or any operating systems that has a Java runtime environment. Java applications are portable or platform independent. Java was developed by James Gosling in 1995 at Sun Microsystems which was later acquired by Oracle in 2010. Java has close to 9 million developers worldwide currently about 3 billion mobile phones run Java as well as 120 million TV sets and every blu-ray player. Average salary of a Java developer is just over $ 100,000 per year in the US. This course is the first part of my complete four-part Java series. Each part is about three to four hours long so it can easily complete it in a day or two. The first part will give you a solid foundation on how to start programming in Java in the second part we 'll talk about object oriented programming which is a style of programming use in most if not all Java applications. The third part will talk about core Java API is or application programming interfaces.

Shorter and more consistent. Binary or base two system only allows zeros and ones, for example the number 255 in decimal system is equivalent to eight ones in the binary system. Hexadecimal numbers contain the digits 0 to 9 as well as the letters a to f, making it easier to deal with large decimal or binary numbers.

When working with numbers, it is important to understand the concept of narrowing; this happens when a variable of a smaller type is initialized with a larger type. As we store a smaller number in the larger memory space, we don't have to worry about data loss as the additional bytes in memory are filled with zeroes. Although these numbers are not truly random, they are based on some kind of mathematical formula. To generate random numbers, we can use the 'srand' (seed rand) function, which will give us two random values between one and six. To limit the range of this random number, we can use the formula shown onscreen; though this method is more complicated and not suitable for beginners, it is still a good way to learn how to generate random numbers - for example, to roll a dice.
