A steel cylindrical air receiver with 5 ft. diameter and pressure load of 180 psi, design stress of 9500 psi maximum. The pressure vessel is to be provided with 1 ½ in. diameter drain valve installed at the bottom of the vessel and safety pressure relief valve installed either at the top most or at the side with pop – out rating of 200 psi. Assume a 100% weld joint efficiency. The lap welding tensile strength is 65,000 psi. Determine the bursting pressure of this air receiver.
