Contemporary western thinking has same myths (assumptions) as ancient greece. There are four built in assumptions in all indian thought which are taken as givens. St augustine wondered if time existed before god created everything else. God created time before he created anything else. Having a beginning of time means someone had to start it so god must exist. Any act undertaken at the level of personal responsibility. The universal cosmic law that ensures every act receives the appropriate rewards or consequences. Desire ---> resolves ----> deed -----> fruit (phala) -----> fate (daivam)
