He likes being distracted bt doesn"t like the consequences. He links his experience to this fundamental shift in society. He argues that print text and online text are different. Characteristics of internet environment: unprecedented amounts of information, sharing of information. Watch tv as much as we ever did. When we read off a screen we scan and look for objects of importance.
