There are four different personality domains: genetic, biological, evolutionary, psychodynamic. Genetic genes do not influence behaviour directly. 90% of genes that we inherit are species-specific. The 10% that result in uniqueness are what genetics focus" on. Heritability: extent to which genes play a role in behaviour and traits. Ocean traits each show a heritability of 35-50%. Heritability is not to get confused with inherited (those genes that we receive from parents). Heritability estimates are tied to a place and time meaning: If everyone in a population has the same environment, then influence of genotypes will tend to be greater. Since mz twins share 100% and dz twins 50%, the difference in correlation is attributed to the difference of genes. Major assumption equal environment assumption: mz twins share the same environment to the same extent that dz twins share the same environment. Criticism of eea: since mz resemble each other more, maybe they share more environment that the dz twins.
