Feminism(s): belief in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes. The "s" on the end because feminism is diverse (i. e. native, women of colour, disabled). Equality: providing the same platform (treated the same as men, exact division) Equity: providing the same opportunity (having the same rights as men, fairness) Intersectionality: acknowledging that gender isn"t the only factor in identity, idea that all parts of identity interact. (anything you can be discriminated for) Medical model: focused on eliminating discrimination for the disabled, concerns the physical development of people. Social model: how the world looks at disabled people. Hegemonic masculinity: the ideal model of what it means to be a man (cis, hetero, white, etc. ) Patriarchy: a system of society or government in which men hold the power and women are largely excluded from it. Binary: everything ts into 2 categories, if you are one thing then you aren"t the other, no middle ground (male and female roles in society)
