Cases in class: no heavy technical knowledge required/no technical jargon. Not using a defined approach to the case ( be clear, concise, methodical ) ***if you go by gut feelings, you still need justification! Try to do it within 3hrs, but it"s a guideline, not a rule. 10+ hrs is too much for one case. Clean & simple ppt, with clear storyline - sell the story. What do i want to build on. How can threats be minimized, strengths be used to overcome issues, etc. Factors that make a difference between success & failure in a given industry. Who are the players: government, shareholders, management, suppliers, community, etc. Tech - either doesn"t exist or you can"t access it (e. g. patented tech) Switching cost (e. g. switching to samsung, all your apps are with apple) Access to distribution channels (e. g. a random cola isn"t in every vending machine - Very bad for small competitors - they can"t keep up financially.
