Anatomical position : toes/palms/face = facing forward - orientation & location. Two plates of compact bone separated by spongy bone. Round/oval, develop in tendons *only bone not connected with ligament. Shallow depression in bone small articular surface outgrowth/boney projection. Round nodule/small eminence/outgrowth for articulation & muscle attachment. Round projection above a condyle serving as surface for ligament/tendon attachment. Round prominence at end of bone often for articulation. 2 bones connected by fiber joints (connective tissue) Very little to no movement: fibrous solid joints: Syndesmosis (joined by ligaments: cartilagenous solid joints: Mvmt to decrease angle between 2 body parts. Mvmt to increase angle between 2 body parts. *circumduction= medial/internal & lateral/external rotation (bilaxial) - all 4 movements. Tendon (skeletal muscle) - fascicle - muscle fiber - myofibril (sacromere composed of actin/myosin) Muscle fibers are stimulated to contract by nervous system-innervated via motor neurons. Motor unit = 1 nerve innervating multiple muscle fibers. Contractile unit= sacromere / contractile components= actin & myosin.
