Happens to 50% of people at least once. 80% warts disappear spontaneously in 2 years. Complementary and alternative medicine is mostly bogus but it is a huge industry. Is it someone you like?: ritual of taking medicine, strength of belief. Medication specifically targeting viral enzymes to repress herpes activation and wipe it out with little to no side-effect. Still a huge market for herbal remedies. Pharmaceutical companies invest huge amounts of money to develop new products, most of which never reach the market. Unlike pharmaceutics, herbal remedies don"t need to prove anything to the fda, etc: no: We need to prove that a herbal remedy is harmful to take it off the market. Most people are seduced by the fact it"s natural (even though most plants are toxic) Marketing uses testimonials, folklore, traditions and belief systems. Less than 40% of products are reported to physicians. Essentially based on the belief the body will cure itself.
