Very sensitive to different kind of brain damage. Usually requires a subject to draw/copy images: benton visual retention test fifth edition (bvrt-v) Psychological deficit concept on which test for brain damage are based, where a poor performance on a specific task is related to or caused by some underlying deficit. The bvrt assumes that brain damage easily impairs visual memory ability. Geometric designs are shown and quickly removed. The subject must then reproduce the designs from memory. Responses are scored according to criteria in the manual omissions and mistakes causes lost of points. The more errors, the closer to organic damage one gets. Errors are also associated with age, learning disaiblities and schizophrenia: bender visual motor gestal test (bvmgt) Also used in assessment of brain damage, the bvmgt is one of the most popular visual test. Consist of nine geometric figure that the subject is asked to copy.
