The midterm will consist of 20 multiple choice questions (worth 1 point each) and one short answer (1-2 paragraphs) worth 5 points. It will cover all of part 1 of the course (i. e. conceptual aspects of globalization and global citizenship), with questions drawing from lectures and readings. You are not expected to know every specific detail from particular readings or facts cited in lecture. Part 1 of the course focuses on establishing a conceptual foundation and epistemic lens which you can use to think critically about the issues and cases for the remainder of the course. My words of advice are to understand the major concepts (globalization, global citizenship/cosmopolitanism), how these ideas were created, their relationship to one another and their importance in contemporary issues.
