Cost may in uence whether a person uses formal (of cial medical structures, biomedicine) or informal (naturopaths, osteopaths, family) care. Who has access to certain services or treatments (and which treatments become covered) Whether care is preventative (prevent health problems from developing) or corrective ( x existing problems) Undergo rigorous training, obtain license to practice, legally permitted. Restricts who can provide healthcare by insisting they acquire credentials. Who can practice what (scope) regulated by state and professional bodies (nurses, specialists, chiropractic, etc. ) Political process, battle (ex. who"s allowed to prescribe medication?)
