A justification for liberty in thought and action: People should be able to say whatever they want. Every voice will be heard, and the best voice will win the debate. Does that represent the empirical reality of the 21st century: mill: thinking graphically. Domain of public speech, and inside it there are a bunch of individuals, each of which have their own ideas and making their own arguments. Free discourse and ideas banking of each other, and in this context of debate where all voices can be heard equally loud it is the best idea that wins. Content will determine what is accepted by society as a living truth. There are a few major players in the private media and they are the ones who can shape and control of a discourse. Macleans, ctv and a few others can dominate and sculpt public discourse in such a way that is really more of a monologue than a debate.
