Lecture 2 binary code (including decoding and encoding 8-bit numbers): a binary code represents text or computer processor instructions using the binary number system"s two binary digits, 0 and 1. A binary code assigns a bit string to each symbol or instruction. bit: a bit is the basic unit of information in computing and digital communications. A bit can have only one of two values, and may therefore be physically implemented with a two-state device. These values are most commonly represented as either a 0 or 1. Digitally: no noise added by transmission or storage.
