Men hold more than 85% of legislative positions and governorships in the us and 80% of governmental positions around the world. Men hold over 90% of executive positions in the corporate world. Peggy mcintosh- white privilege-male privilege (already know about peggy) William goode- sociology of superordinates- relationships between men and women is parallel to privileged and disadvantaged. Men don"t need to know about women as much as women need to know about men b/c the world is male dominated. Just like white people don"t have to know much about black people. Current generation did not create the social system that exists today so they deny any conspiracies to oppress women. Young white people also do this with oppressed racial groups. Men, like all superordinates, take the system that gives them statues for granted and unaware of how it gives them advantages. People at the top always assume they earned their accomplishments.
