This data tells us that family violence represents a significant portion of violence crime in canada. 1/4 victims were victims of family violence. Among all of these family violence victims, about 62% were victims of violence at the hands of a spouse. Females from all age groups are more likely than males to be victims of family violence. This tells us many findings about family life and the violence that takes place in the home. When it comes to women as victims, females are much more likely to be victims of spousal violence being 8/10 of the victims are females. Young women experience the highest rates of spousal violence.
