Income security inancial or material assistance provided to increase the income or other resources of individuals and families. Welfare state the range of programs and services available to canada ciizens is commonly referred to as the welfare state. The idea of providing income security to ciizens in need , disputes arise in regards to determining which groups are in the most need. This approach sees social problems and inequaliies as a built in feature of society. It not only helps those in need, but also exposes the exploitaive nature of capailism with the hopes to facilitate a change in society on a structural level. 3 levels of pracice micro, mezzo and macro. Micro direct pracice with individuals direct social work. Mezzo working with groups and communiies direct social work.
