women acting to change the world around them.

ideas
2. Models for feminist and social justice activism (case studies)
3. Theory Activism (Praxis)
4. Local -Global Connections
Where does the Women’s Studies Part come in?
McMaster Women’s Studies Website:
Women’s Studies is the critical examination of women’s lives, which places
women’s own experiences at its center
Hunter College Women’s Studies Collective:
Women’s Studies…is the study of women that places power at the center of its
analysis
Our Approach
We will look at successful (and, sometimes, less than successful) coalitions between
women who live the intersectional dynamics of gender, race, class, sexual identity,
religion, nationality and globalization in very different contexts.
