BIOL 102 Study Guide - House Cricket, Gryllus, Domestica
Document Summary
Carbon dioxide output in the species, gryllus bimaculutus and acheta domestica. Carbon dioxide (co2) output by the different species of crickets varies significantly. Sometimes, the species of insects are exposed to lower oxygen levels which thus create higher explores the idea of how various species react when exposed to co2. By carrying through with this experiment, one can conclude the effect of having a higher or lower co2 output. This information can lead to important applications in medical and veterinary fields (nicolas and sillans 1989). Co2 levels that can force the insects to adapt to the environment around them (nicolas and sillans 1989). In an environment with high co2 levels, these insects must be able to maintain homeostasis, as not to pass out from the lack of oxygen available. The lack of oxygen can be a result of variety of different factors that are mainly affected by the external environment that these insects inhabit.
