Document Summary
The color we see depends on the wavelength or frequency of light. Wavelength: light visible to humans has wavelengths ranging from 400 to 700 nanometers. The wavelength of light is related to the psychological property of color . (400 nm appears as violet; 700 nm appears as red) Amplitude/ intensity: amplitude is the height from a crest (top) to a trough (bottom) of the light wave. Intensity corresponds to the psychological property of brightness higher amplitude waves are perceived as brighter. Essentially wavelength = color, amplitude or intensity = brightness. Shape of lens focus (only one focus is possible because shape of lens can"t change) Opening in the middle of iris (color part) that admits light. Allows light to hit the back of the eye the retina. Changes size to increase and decrease the amount of light entering eye. Becomes more curved to focus on close items; less curved to focus on far items.
