Official definition = reliable, repeatable sequence of operations enabled by systematic organization of resources and info into defined roles & processes that can be mapped & documented. How we communicate and plan this is through standard business process modelling diagram (a pool w/ lanes for tasks, flowcharting steps, processes and decision points) Print is now competing with alternative digital channels in marketing mix: many are low production costs & zero distribution costs clients have perception that digital is cheaper but consider the costs of servers, redundancy, elec, etc. Industry trends must-do"s: top answer: be as lean as possible, streamline, reduce steps, do more with less, other: market effectively, upgrade capabilities, increase value, strengthen sales, learn to sell non traditional services effectively. Industry members, vendors, consultants, all need for skills & training focused on new tools.
